HONOR has officially launched its new Magic9 smartphone series in China, bringing a major focus on mobile photography, flagship performance and large silicon-carbon batteries. The lineup includes the HONOR Magic9, Magic9 Pro Max and Magic9 Super Edition.
HONOR Magic9 Series Focuses on Camera and Battery
The Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max are the highlights of the new lineup, featuring dual 200MP camera systems developed with HONOR’s ARRI imaging partnership. The Pro Max is designed around a more advanced cinematic photography experience, with ARRI Image Science, LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and 10-bit color support.
The Magic9 Pro Max also features a 200MP main camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, alongside a 200MP telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. HONOR says its ARRI CINEMA Mode can record video at up to 4K 60fps, giving creators more manual control over video capture and color.
The standard Magic9 also gets a dual 200MP setup, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 55MP front camera.
Flagship Snapdragon Chips and Large Batteries
Performance is another major part of the series. The Magic9 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, while the Magic9 Pro Max moves to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Battery capacity is equally notable. The Magic9 packs an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the Pro Max comes with an 8,800mAh cell supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The Magic9 Super Edition takes battery capacity even further with an 11,000mAh battery and an active cooling system, targeting users who want longer gaming and video sessions.
China Availability
HONOR has launched the Magic9 series in China, with the standard Magic9 starting at 4,999 yuan. The Magic9 Pro Max starts at 6,499 yuan, while the Super Edition starts at 4,499 yuan.
HONOR has not yet provided full details about international availability. For now, the Magic9 series stands out for combining high-resolution cameras, ARRI-focused video features, flagship Snapdragon hardware and unusually large batteries in one smartphone lineup.
